How to grow wheatgrass successfully at home.

HOW TO GROW WHEATGRASS

You CAN grow your own wheatgrass at home.  All it takes is some good quality Organic seed, consistency , and patience while practicing.  Follow these easy steps to get started today!

  1. Start by soaking a good quality seed.  You can use a bowl, pitcher, or jar, anything that will allow your water line to come at least an inch above the seed.  The seed will absorb water and expand so you need to make sure there is plenty of water in your container.
  2. Leave seed soaking for at least 6 hours but no more than 8.
  3. Drain in a colander and rinse. Cover with damp paper towel.
  4. Wait about 10 to 12 hours and rinse again. Dampen paper towel and recover.
  5. Wait another 8 to 12 hours. You do not want your sprout to be too long.  The time will depend on the temperature and humidity of your growing space.
  6. Spread your seed in an even layer on your tray, on top of about an inch and a half of soil. Seed should be touching but you do not want so much seed that there are multiple layers.  Just evenly spread with your hand.
  7. Lightly water and place an empty tray on top of your newly planted seed.
  8. Water every day. Try to water consistently at around the same time each day.  Take the top off when the wheatgrass starts to push top off (usually around day 3).
  9. Cut entire tray at once. Do not leave wheatgrass in tray.  It starts to age and use some of the precious nutrients, you are trying to capture, to continue growing into a mature plant.
